Overview

Tour the principal landmarks, the Parliament buildings, City market, National museum and snake park with lunch at Carnivore restaurant or similar. The Nairobi Provincial Commissioners offices are situated on the right of the roundabout in a listed 1913 building.  Off the Uhuru Highway turn right and to the left you have the Faculty of Engineering Department of our biggest Campus, the Nairobi University.  The latter has part of its administration block to the right of Harry Thuku Road.

With a massive permanent collection that combines history, culture, and artwork, the Nairobi National Museum is a must for travelers interested in Kenya’s rich heritage. Artifacts are displayed across two floors, and a nature trail winds through the surrounding grounds, a botanical garden, and collections of outdoor sculptures. The Basics In addition to the destination-worthy permanent collection, the Nairobi National Museum features a rotating list of temporary exhibitions. Since the museum is a short drive from downtown Nairobi, many city tours feature it as an included stop along with sites such as the Nairobi Railway Museum, government buildings, and Snake Park right next door.
