Dine on the ocean at one of Zanzibar's most iconic and unique restaurants
The unique location of this restaurant is an attraction in itself. If the tide is high, guests can use a boat to get to the restaurant — or even swim; and when the tide is low, they can simply walk.
A rare visit to one of Zanzibar's most secretive and forbidden islands
Tumbatu is one of Zanzibar's best kept secrets as the vast majority is forbidden from setting foot on the island. To enter you need special permission from the elders of the Tumbatu community.
Although this is the island where, in the 11th century, the Shiraz built the first stone building in the entire Zanzibar Archipelago, you won't find cars or scooters as there is only one road to walk on throughout the whole island.
On this full day tour, leaving from Mkokotoni by boat, guests will visit the school of Jongowe and the house of a fisherman's family. Our guests learn about the daily life and the secrets of Tumbatu — as they are also famous for witchcraft.
Discover rare red colobus monkeys and magical mangroves in Zanzibar's only national park
During a guided tour through the Jozani National Park, guests will see the different species of monkeys, impressive trees and plants. Guests will uncover the magical world of the Zanzibar mangroves while walking along the wooden trail.
This tour is combined with a visit to the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and see them flying in close proximity.
Snorkelling at Mnemba Atoll, dolphins, and a secluded beach lunch
After heading by dhow from Kendwa to the stunning Mnemba Atoll — with every possibility of seeing dolphins along the way — guests will stop at Mnemba Kitchwani Reef and at Coral Gardens for snorkelling.
This amazing reef with steep slopes offers great underwater topography and a chance to see amazing corals and many different species of fish. A snorkel guide will be in the water pointing out all of the little camouflage and tricks most people's eyes miss.
At the end of the trip, guests will enjoy a mouthwatering lunch and relax on the beautiful secluded beach of Muyuni Beach.
Meet 200-year-old giant tortoises on a historic island off Stone Town
Prison Island gets its name from the prison which was built on it in 1893. It was never actually used as a prison but rather as a quarantine hospital.
After a 30-minute boat ride with a beautiful view of Stone Town's skyline, guests will meet the contemporary inhabitants of the island and the giant tortoises — which were banned from the city of Stone Town — some of which are more than 200 years old.
A traditional dhow adventure through Menai Bay's dolphins, reefs and uninhabited islands
Leaving from Fumba in the south-east — still a very untouched and remote area in Zanzibar — guests will head on a trip in a traditional wooden dhow towards one of three snorkelling stops to enjoy the unique underwater world of Zanzibar.
On the way they will hopefully meet dolphins playing around in the shallow Marine Park of Menai Bay, and depending on the tides they'll swim at a very special island full of mangroves. On the secluded uninhabited island of Kwale, they'll enjoy a delicious lunch.
A fragrant walking tour through the spice plantations that made Zanzibar famous
A tour of one of Zanzibar's spice farms is a must-do on the island. During a walking tour through the farm, guests will be shown and have explained each and every spice one can find in Zanzibar.
After being fully packed with knowledge, guests get time to buy spices, soaps and crèmes — all handmade by the community within the farm — and can enjoy a traditional weaving class.
Walk the petite streets of this UNESCO World Heritage site, rich with centuries of history
Stone Town and its buildings are full of history and ancient stories on Zanzibar. Guests will visit the Cathedral, Slave Markets, the Sultan's Palace, Tip Tip's House, the Old Arabic Fort, the fruit and vegetable market, Forodhani Park and the famous Zanzibar Doors in the petite streets.
