Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Gorilla tracking offers a thrilling and unforgettable experience that commences early in the morning. With your packed lunch, depart your lodge and head to the park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing and gorilla family allocations. Due to the physical demands of gorilla tracking, maintaining good health and fitness is strongly recommended. Appropriate attire — including sturdy hiking boots, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts — is essential for protection against insects and dense vegetation, and we recommend hiring porters to assist you on the trek.

The journey into the forest typically traverses challenging terrain, ranging from dense undergrowth to steep slopes. The duration of the trek varies considerably based on the location of the specific gorilla group, ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Upon locating the group, visitors are treated to an enchanting hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, while experienced guides ensure a safe viewing distance and offer valuable insights into gorilla behaviour and ongoing conservation efforts. Following this extraordinary encounter, you trek back and return to the park headquarters, where you are awarded a certificate for the Gorilla Trek.
